La Tour, Pole Folder´s organic imprint has, in less than 12 months become one of the most interesting and diverse labels around.
Founded in 2008 as a platform for Pole Folder’s body of work, side projects and collaborations La Tour continues to present releases that illustrate the label’s penchant for aching, epic melodies and deceptive dance floor control.
Unlike most imprints, La Tour was founded upon a well-thought-out concept: With 2 years of creative thought going into his highly acclaimed debut album “Zero Gold” on Bedrock, it comes of no surprise that Pole Folder’s new label La Tour, encompasses equal conception, representing another timeless episode in his career.
La Tour’s innovative approach, was clearly defined with its first release “The Way”, opening the door to reveal a glimpse into Pole Folders laboratory, HQ and hive of intense composition. Following with the single “Ghost Life”, complete with Gregor Threshor remix, and “Hollow” remixed by the ever-reliable synth technician Robert Babicz, La Tour continued full of electronic finesse at the heart of the dance floor.
Having adorned ubiquitous labels such as Bedrock and Global Underground, and already a familiar name with several seminal releases, Pole Folder and his design principle behind La Tour has succeeded in creating an accomplished marriage of dance floor rhythms and mature emotional melodies - a relationship that will engage La Tour’s releases to listeners across many genres.
Reflecting on a decade of producing smooth innovative electronic music, Benoit Franquet can now celebrate five releases in the La Tour catalogue; full of beautiful, moody compositions of melodic layers and carefully selected remixes from Spooky, Sasha, Gregor Threshor and Robert Babicz,
To continue his outstanding contribution to electronic music, the master himself Sasha, delivers a remix of La Tour’s latest release: Pole Folder’s “Hate Myself”. Sasha’s remix is true testament to his legendary status, lending his perfect ear to add beauty and timelessness to Pole Folder’s already faultless original.
Based on intensely composed tracks that are genuinely emotionally stirring; molding moods through groaning string sections and choral theatrics, La Tour encompasses a successfully utilised musical palette and sets the tone for many more releases to come.
