Yo Yo Get Funky is out now on Beatport.

It’s a marvellous hot pot of booty-bass, ghetto-house and dub-step, or in their words, a vault of sleaze, trash and bass. Just what we think the music scene needs! We managed to hook up an interview with Tim Healey and Nick Deekline themselves to find out what exactly to expect from this beautiful union, check it out below! Also, to mark the label launch they’ve laid on a feast of new exclusive tracks in the shape of this DJ mix, featuring the first release on the label, their ...
Hip House 1989
BEAT ELECTRIC —
Contrary to popular belief, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch's 1991 hit Good Vibrations was not the first hip house track. As seen in this documentary, there are fine lines between hip house, rap house, house rap and you name it. The genre grew a lot in the 90's and saw a lot of success on the radio but it morphed into something very 90's. These Chicago early hip house cuts tracks show a lot of classic house and acid elements. Tyree and Fast Eddie's ...
